There is still a lot of time left before FIFA 2009 hits every console imaginable. If you happen to be one of those football fans who've been waiting breathlessly for Electronic Arts' upcoming title FIFA 2009 then you might be in for a surprise. EA Canada has an alternative to quench the appetite of hungry football fans like you with its recently released title UEFA Euro 2008.

Celebrate the passion and augment the experience that fans have for their national teams with the only official and exclusive licensed videogame of UEFA Euro 2008. Take on the challenge of leading one of the 52 European national teams to glory as UEFA Euro 2008 recreates all of the drama and excitement of the official tournament in Austria and Switzerland. The game captures the look and feel of the journey from qualification to the finals with rain and mud dynamics that impact playing conditions. The key defining moments of the game comes with a penalty kick mode that re-creates the elation and agony of a penalty shoot-out as if you were on the pitch. Real-time player ratings change based on player performance. Enhanced goalkeeper AI, collisions, and trapping makes UEFA Euro 2008 a better game of football than any other game currently available for PS 3.

You can compete in all eight authentic stadiums and can experience the thrill of scoring the goal that sends your country through to the next round. Also, you can choose how to celebrate it with all-new interactive user-controlled celebrations. Captain Your Country mode, a new cousin of Be A Pro mode introduced in FIFA 08 lets you create a player and control him during the course of the qualifying campaign rather than in just one match. The aim is not only to see your team through to qualification, but also to rack up enough large number of good performances to be made captain by the time you reach the finals. The weaker the team, the easier it is to become captain, but the harder it is to make it to the finals. Your personal score for each match is based on how well you perform in your allotted role. Work through eight status levels to earn the captaincy of your team and then lead your country into battle for championship glory against your rivals. Go online in Battle of the Nations to earn status points for yourself and your country in a competition for continental supremacy.

It's just clearly the best playable soccer game made in the last decade with improved graphics and authentic noises made from the respected nation's crowd! The other significant gameplay factor that has been tweaked is the weather. The obvious let down while buying this game is almost the same game engine as FIFA 08 and no club teams. However, the game is realistic and challenging which makes it perfectly enjoyable and fun.
