MGS 4 Kicks Ass in Sales Across Japan and Europe Review

Four days after its launch in Japan, Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots sold 476,334 copies, which includes various editions; even those bundled with hardware. Japanese gaming mag Famitsu confirms that the release of MGS 4 gave the PlayStation 3 a major salels boost to 77,208 for the week. PS3's figures on Japanese weekly charts usually end up being somewhere around 10-12,000.

At the same time, the game has topped sales charts in the United Kingdom and has joined titles like LEGO Indy, GTA IV and such. Here's the full UK chart for the week ending June 14 (thanks, GI):
